Doughty Street Chambers Successfully Handed Over

RISE  Management Consulting Ltd are delighted to have assisted in the successful completion of the Cat B commercial fit out of 4 properties owned and utilised by the prominent Doughty Street Chambers in London. The RISE team managed the 32 week programme which saw the strip out and refit of a specification Cat B spaces across four buildings within the Client’s portfolio whilst still in occupation. These four commercial properties house leading specialist barristers who advise and appear as advocates for clients in courts and tribunals around the world.

The clients’ brief for the interior was a simple one, the design had to strive to expose the buildings original features, whilst creating clean, contemporary and functional spaces. Mechanical and Electrical works were stripped out and replaced with new installations throughout the project ensuring the new fit out would last the test of time in these listed properties.

The most challenging and also most rewarding portion of this project was the discovery of the structure supporting the pitched ceiling and sky light in the new seminar room. A steel and timber structure was exposed during the strip out process, revealing an immaculate truss which required only superficial work. This discovery has ensured that guests flow through the revamped reception and into a double height space flooded with natural light at the end of their journey through the buildings fabric.

The team for this project included RISE acting as the Employer Agent, Exigere as Cost Managers, Fletcher Priest Architects as the Interior Architects, GDM Partnership as the Services Engineers and Quadrant Approved Inspectors as the Building Control consultants.  8Build were appointed as the Main Fit Out Contractor for this highly co-ordinated project.
